About Smarthistory is a free and open, not-for-profit, art history textbook. We use multimedia to deliver unscripted conversations between art historians about the history of art.

This is a great website created by art scholars about topics in the history of art. It includes donated copyright free images in Flickr, excellent videos and even a lecture on the Sistine Chapel in Second Life, which is well worth watching.

I am happy to report that CCIL has donated some images for use to Smarthistory. And you are free to use all of their images from their Flickrsite in your own presentations.
